Heading up to the Arctic region? At Pyramiden, on an archipelago in Norway, you’ll find a ghost town and a glacier all in one. Pyramiden was founded by Sweden in 1910, passed to Russia for coal mining in the 1930’s, and then abandoned in the late 1990’s. In summer you can get there by boat, in winter you reach it by snowmobile. The hotel was restored in 2014, but other than the handful of people running it, no other permanent residents live here.
