The town of Cossack on the northwestern coast of Australia was the original port in this area, servicing fishing and wool trades. Built in the late 1880s, the town was to became a major base for workers employed in the pearl industry. The original stone buildings that remain have been refurbished. The old police station and cells are now temporary backpacker’s accommodation, and other buildings can be hired for events.
